8MM (1999)

The cable and internet was out for a long afternoon, the kind where all you planned was done and all you were looking for was a movie nap to twilight in bed, so we went through what might end up in a giveaway pile and watched 8mm.... Perfect. 

Easiest way to say is Nick Cage as a detective in a BDSM thriller mystery who gets sucked into a violent snuff scandal. Catherine Keener as beautiful as ever as a lonely wife. Plus, Joaquin Phoenix in a belly shirt, but still... nobody writes it up better than Roger Ebert, so go look up his please, PLUS, the score is ridiculously fitting/incredible
